Position Overview
This position reports to the Corporate Director of Global Sourcing and
will be housed in our Hoffman manufacturing facility in Anoka, MN. The
scope of the position extends across all of our divisions, with a
particular emphasis on our Technical Products businesses, where the
majority of our metals spend exists.
Essential Job Functions
- Lead Pentair divisional Commodity Managers in developing critical
spend
initiatives intended to significantly improve cost productivity
globally.
- Responsible for creating and implementing commodity strategies across
the Pentair enterprise leveraging the total company spend opportunities.
- Develop a longer term, leading practice approach to manage key
commodities: Define global supply landscape; Understand cost drivers;
Sharing of Data
- Work closely with other Pentair functions, i.e. engineering and
manufacturing, to identify and drive total cost opportunities.
- Coach and develop sourcing experts across Pentair to help enhance
their
knowledge and understanding of sourcing principles and applications.
- Possess a deep understanding and knowledge base of external commodity
markets and potential market impacts and other effects to maximize cost
opportunities.
- Incorporate and document process improvement opportunities into daily
activities.
- Work with Financial Analysts to track location metrics.
- Monitor contract compliance and optimize contractual obligations.
- Advocate for implementation of corporate wide sourcing initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree is required (MBA or advanced degree preferred)
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in supply management. Preferably a
background working for a manufacturer of durable goods.
- Experience in leading and supervising professionals, both indirect and
direct reports
- Strong business acumen with detailed knowledge of profit and loss
statements
- Low cost country sourcing and procurement experience.
- Experience with metal fabrication and stamping, casting, and machining
preferable.
- Working experience with steel service centers and global steel mills
desirable.
